Orange Juice Steak Marinade

April 16, 2021

In the second part of our steak rub series, we’ve got a Cuban-inspired seasoning that is sure to be a treat. What’s different about this recipe is that there’s orange juice in it! Don’t be mistaken though – this isn’t the same as your orange chicken sauce from Chinese takeout menus. Actual orange juice is used in the mixture because of its low calories and highly acidic properties. Because of the high acidity, the juice does a really great job at tenderizing the steak. The key is not to use too much juice though, or else it would actually toughen your meat up.

This steak that our partner Bill from Blackview Farm cooked looks absolutely perfect!

Next time you have some steak that needs a little tenderizing, pull up this recipe by allrecipes and give it a try!

  1. Heat cumin seeds in a small skilly on medium heat until they turn brown and smell toasted. Immediately remove from heat and mix the seeds with orange juice, oil, steak seasoning, lime juice, and oregano.
  2. Place your steaks in a resealable bag and pour the orange juice marinade over the meat. Squeeze out the air. Marinate in the drive for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Grill over medium-high heat on an oiled pan or grate.
  4. Enjoy
